In an effort to expand our scope of service to the community, the Grady Young Foundation is planning a Back-to-School event targeting our youth. We are pleased to announce the First Annual “Back to School Slam Fest” featuring a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a 3-point shootout, team ball competition, and a slam dunk exhibition. Teams for these events will be comprised of the eight high schools in the Gainesville-Hall County area. We will also have a school spirit competition. We are requesting that each school send either their cheerleading squad/dance team/pep squad/step team to participate in this event. Participants of this event will perform a 3-minute routine to show their school spirit. A cash prize will be presented to the student government of the high school that exhibits the most school spirit.

We are inviting your school to participate in the events mentioned above and provide a team consisting of at least one (1) player not on the school basketball team, and one (1) female team member for the following events:

               3-on-3 tournament (3 players)
               3-point shootout (1 player)
               Slam dunk exhibition (1-2 players)
               Team ball competition (2 players)

The events are scheduled for Saturday, August 9, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Gainesville High School. Also planned are health screenings, community activities and school supplies and shoes giveaways. Students must be present to receive gifts on a first-come, first-served basis. We sincerely hope you will accept this invitation and support this youth event.
